Anodized aluminum refers to the following colors with their Oracle Coding abbreviation: Clear Aluminum Anodized (AN), Black Anodize Acid Etch (XAB), Bronze Anodize Acid Etch (XBA) or Bronze Dark Anodize Acid Etch (XBD).

Anodized aluminum has a durable surface. Things that look like scratches are often actually the residue of what was scrapped across the anodized aluminum, which can be wiped off.  When a door made of anodized aluminum sections appears to have scratches, make sure to clean the sections prior to requesting replacement product.

For minor scratches, wipe the section off with a General Purpose Degreaser, SD-20, which can be purchased at Amazon, Grainger, and other stores which sell automotive cleaning products.  For more aggressive blemishes we recommend using Nevr-Dull, which can be purchased at Amazon, Walmart and Automotive stores.

The customer should try to wipe these blemishes off with one of the above products using a clean lint free brush.  If this does not correct the issue, the customer can then either submit a request for warranty replacement product (if applicable) or request a quote for replacement product.

See the before picture on the left, which shows what appears to be two scratches. The scratch on the left was made with a key and the one on right with a finger nail. The after picture on the right shows these blemishes wiped off.   In this example, the anodized aluminum section was not damaged and the scratches were able to be removed with General Purpose Degreaser.
