Jackshaft openers should generally only be used with high lift and vertical lift track. Trolley openers should be used with standard radius, low-headroom, and roof pitch track. Improperly using a jackshaft opener with standard lift track can allow the cable go slack & slip off the cable drum, allowing the door to crash down causing severe injury or death.
The wall-mounted opener by Chamberlain will work for many applications, even many common commercial doors. It is the preferred option whenever possible.
When the application requires using a commercial jackshaft opener with standard radius track, pusher springs and cable snubbers are required. Commercial openers also require an extended length solid torsion shaft.
